Burn wood in the ember maker and rake fresh coals under the grid whenever the next round is ready to go on. Lift the hot grid with the grid lifters, hang a potjie from the potjie holder and switch on the light as the sun goes down. When the fire is out, the ash waits in the ash pan and ash drawer, and the top and bottom doors close it all away.

HOLIDAY BRAAI

Sea in the air.
Salt in the air, a coil of boerewors and a few chops over the coals, and nowhere else to be. Built into your patio wall, the Deluxe in stainless steel brings that holiday braai feeling to every weekend.
The wall, counter, table, chairs, plants, firewood, food and drinks are not included. Plan the gather, flue and clearances with an independent installer.

THE GRID
Room for chops, wors and a potjie.
The cooking grid is 950 mm wide, with grid lifters to move it while it is hot. Hang a potjie from the potjie holder for something slow alongside the braai.
THE ASH
Ash has its own place.
Ash collects in the ash pan and ash drawer. Let it cool fully before you empty it, and close the top and bottom doors when the braai is not in use.

The 855 mm body height does not include the 320 mm gather above it, or the flue. These are product dimensions, not a building opening: plan the recess with your installer, who checks the actual unit, the open door and safe clearances.

What is included?
The 1200 Deluxe in 304 stainless steel, with top and bottom doors, a cooking grid and grid lifters, an ember maker, an ash pan and ash drawer, a potjie holder, a light fitting and a poker. The flue pipe, joining collar and cowl are options on this page. Building work and installation are not included.
Which fuel can I use?
Wood or charcoal. Burn wood in the ember maker and rake the fresh coals under the grid as you cook.
How much cooking space is there?
The cooking grid is 950 mm wide, and grid lifters come with it. Ask us for the grid depth if you need it, for example before you order a replacement grid. The potjie holder takes a potjie for something slow.
Is the flue included?
No. You can add a Homefires flue pipe, a joining collar and a cowl on this page: a fixed cowl, or a rotating cowl with a slip-on base. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the right parts for your setup.
Where does the flue connect?
At the outlet on top of the gather. The gather rises 320 mm above the body, and the outlet measures 500 × 350 mm. Have an independent installer plan the flue route and support for your building.
How tall must the chimney be?
These built-in braais have a minimum chimney height of 2,500 mm. Your independent installer plans the final height for your roof and building.
How much space do I need?
The body is 1,230 mm wide, 535 mm deep and 855 mm high, and the gather rises 320 mm above it. The front frame is 1,290 mm wide and 880 mm high. Opened, the bottom door reaches 455 mm in front of the body. These are product dimensions, not a building opening. Have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.
How is it built in?
Leave an expansion gap of 20 mm between the body and the brickwork at the sides and at the rear. Your independent installer follows the instruction manual under Plan your setup for the rest of the build.
Can it go indoors?
Yes. The 1200 Deluxe is designed for built-in installation indoors or outdoors. Have an independent installer plan the flue and the safe clearances for your space.
What does the guarantee cover?
There's a 15-year Home Fires guarantee against faulty workmanship or material. Ask us for the full terms.
