WhatsApp UsMORE ABOUT THE MAGNUM
The Outback Magnum Hybrid 3 Burner braai cooks on gas or on briquettes. For coals, let the gas burners light the briquettes, then turn off the gas after around 15 minutes, when they start to turn ashen grey. Vapour bars manage excess fat and reduce flare-ups, and the interchangeable grill takes optional cooking accessories.
SATURDAY IN THE BACK GARDEN
Tongs in hand, hood up and the first sosaties going on. The Magnum turns an ordinary Saturday into a reason to stay outside: gas when you want to get going, briquettes when the mood calls for coals, and a side burner for whatever needs a pan.
The food, tongs, small table, plants and paving are not included. The gas cylinder is not included, and it must never stand directly under the braai.
A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING
THE COALS
Put quality briquettes in the charcoal basket and use the gas burners to light them. After around 15 minutes, when they start to turn ashen grey, turn off the gas and cook over the coals.
THE GRILL
The interchangeable grill holds a pizza stone, paella pan, steak grill, wok or griddle. All five are optional, so start with what you have and add what you will really use.
THE EXTRAS
The warming rack gives you somewhere to hold the food, the side table gives you room, and the tool rack and magnetic bottle opener sit right where you stand. The side burner takes a pan with a base from 150 to 220 mm.
MEASURE THE WHOLE SETUP
Leave room around it, and for the open hood.
These sizes are with the hood closed, so allow room above and behind for the open hood and ask us before you place it. Keep it 1,000 mm from anything flammable, and never use it under a flammable surface.
GOOD TO KNOW
Read the instruction manual before your first cook. It is the UK and European edition, so ask us about the gas setup for South Africa.
