Build the 940 into the wall between two rooms, or into a divider in the middle of the floor, and the same fire glows on both sides. It is an open, vent-free gas firebox, so there is no chimney to build. The coal gas grate is set up for LPG and uses at most 0.79 kg of gas an hour.

THE GAS

The coal gas grate runs on LPG and uses at most 0.79 kg of gas an hour. Use that figure with your gas installer to plan your gas supply. On natural gas? Ask us first.

This is an open, vent-free gas firebox, so there is no chimney to build. Your installer confirms that your rooms and their ventilation suit it before it goes in.

What is included?
The double-sided 940 firebox, with its mild-steel body and façade, and the coal gas grate, set up for LPG. The gas supply, the gas connection, the building work and the installation are not included.
Which gas does it use?
LPG. At its maximum, the coal gas grate uses 0.79 kg of gas an hour.
Can it run on natural gas?
This bundle comes with the LPG coal gas grate. HomeFires also makes natural-gas grates in this range, with their own gas specification. If your home runs on natural gas, ask us before you order.
Does it need a flue or chimney?
No. This is an open, vent-free gas firebox. Your gas installer confirms that your rooms and their ventilation suit the fireplace before it is fitted.

How big is the gas grate?
The coal gas grate is 705 mm wide and 460 mm deep. It sits inside the firebox and comes with it.
How much space do I need?
The façade is 940 mm wide and 835 mm high. Behind it, the body is 765 mm wide, 760 mm high and 480 mm deep, and the side housings take the width to 870 mm. The façade reaches 50 mm above and 25 mm below the body. These are product dimensions, not a building opening. Have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.
Where are the side housings?
Seen from above, each side housing starts 135 mm back from the front of the body and is 205 mm deep. The right housing stands 50 mm out from the body. Plan the recess around them with your installer.
