Make coals in the ember maker and cook on two half grids that you adjust separately. Hang a potjie from the hook for something slow. The mild-steel braai stands on its own box stand, and the 2.4 m flue pipe and rotating cowl come with it, so you can plan the whole setup at once.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME OUTSIDE
A braai with a place of its own.
Give it a level spot and the fire has a home of its own. A Sunday braai, a potjie with friends, one more round while the coals are ready. There is no brick surround to build, so it suits a townhouse or cluster-home patio too.
The 2.4 m flue pipe and rotating cowl are included. Floor works, extra flue length, furniture and installation are not. Stand it on a level, solid, non-combustible floor.

Set each grid separately, so one side can sear while the other cooks more gently. Lift and move them safely with the grid lifters.
THE FLUE
Flue and cowl included.
The 2.4 m flue pipe, rotating cowl and slip-on cowl base come with the braai. The cowl helps keep rain out of the flue and turns with the wind.

What is included?
The 1000 Super Deluxe braai on its box stand, two 400 × 460 mm half grids, grid lifters, ember maker, ash pan, ash drawer, bottom door and potjie hook. A poker, spade, insulation and touch-up paint come with it, plus a 2.4 m flue pipe, a rotating cowl with its slip-on base, an escutcheon plate and a guarantee certificate.
Which fuel can I use?
Wood or charcoal. Build the fire in the ember maker, and use dry, seasoned wood or good-quality charcoal. Never burn treated timber or household waste.
How much cooking space is there?
Two half grids, each 400 × 460 mm. Set them separately and move them with the grid lifters. The ember maker keeps fresh coals coming while you cook.
Is the flue included?
Yes. A 2.4 m flue pipe, a rotating cowl with its slip-on base and an escutcheon plate are included. Your route may need more length. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote.
How tall is it with the flue?
The braai and stand are 1,900 mm high before the flue. The total height depends on the flue pipes and the route. Have an independent installer confirm the height, supports and roof exit.
Where can I put it?
It is made for braaiing outdoors, and Homefires also allows it indoors on a non-combustible floor. Stand it on a level, solid, non-combustible floor, and have an independent installer check the flue route and safe clearances.
How much space do I need?
The stand is 1,070 mm wide and 545 mm deep, a little wider than the 1,005 × 540 mm braai. The fire bed is 800 mm above the floor. Allow 455 mm in front for the open door and keep the cooking area clear.
Is it available in stainless steel?
This braai is made in mild steel. Homefires can also make it in 3CR12 or 304 stainless steel to special order. Ask us for a quote.
What does the guarantee cover?
Homefires guarantees the firebox for 15 years from the date of purchase against faulty workmanship or materials, including warping, when the fire is made in the ember maker or the ash pan. The grid, ember maker, ash pan and other replaceable parts are not covered, and neither is rust from missing maintenance, misuse or water leaks, or damage from incorrect installation. Keep the braai painted and maintained. Ask us for the full terms.
