THE ECONOMASTER ESSENTIALS

Simple, solid and ready to build in.

The 1200 EconoMaster does the essentials well. Build the fire in the ember maker, then move fresh coals under the electroplated grid as you cook. Hang a potjie on the holder for something slow. The ash pan catches what falls, and the top and bottom doors close up the black body when the fire is out.

Homefires 1200 EconoMaster Built-in Braai built into a stone chimney breast on a covered patio, with the bottom door open.

THE WEEKEND STARTS HERE

Light the fire.
Call everyone in.

Get the ember maker going, put the chops and wors on the grid and hang a potjie for later. Built into your patio, the EconoMaster keeps the fire where the company is, from a quick weeknight braai to a long Saturday afternoon.

The stone chimney breast, ledges, plates, plants and boards are not included. Plan the surround, flue and clearances with an independent installer.

A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING

Keep the next round ready.

THE FIRE

Fresh coals, close at hand.

Burn wood in the ember maker and rake fresh coals under the grid whenever the fire needs them. Hang a potjie from the potjie holder for something slow.

THE GRID

Room for the whole braai.

The electroplated mild-steel grid measures 950 × 450 mm, with room for chops, wors and sosaties at the same time.

THE BODY

Made from 2.5 mm mild steel.

The body is 2.5 mm mild steel with high-heat black paint. Close the top and bottom doors when the braai is not in use, and empty the ash pan once the ash is cold.

What is included?

The 1200 EconoMaster braai with top and bottom doors, an ash pan, a 950 × 450 mm electroplated grid, an ember maker, a potjie holder and a light fitting. The body is 2.5 mm mild steel with high-heat black paint. Flue pipes, collars and the cowl are optional extras, sold separately.

Which fuel can I use?

Wood or charcoal. Burn wood in the ember maker and rake the fresh coals under the grid as you cook.

How much cooking space is there?

The electroplated mild-steel grid is 950 mm wide and 450 mm deep. The potjie holder takes a potjie for slow cooking alongside.

Is the flue included?

No. Homefires offers 350 × 500 mm flue pipes, collars and cowls with this model, sold separately. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the right parts for your setup.

Where does the flue connect?

At the outlet on top of the gather, which rises 320 mm above the body. The outlet is 500 mm wide and 350 mm deep, and its front edge sits 120 mm back from the front of the body. The inside of the chimney must not be smaller than this outlet.

How tall should the chimney be?

At least 2.5 m. The flue can be offset by up to 45 degrees to clear an obstruction. Roof types differ, so ask us about the right height and supports for your roof, and have your installer plan the route.

How much space do I need?

The body is 1,230 mm wide. The front frame is 1,285 mm wide and 810 mm high, and the gather rises 320 mm above the body. Opened, the bottom door reaches 430 mm in front of the body. Ask us to confirm the body depth and height before you build the opening. These are product dimensions, not a building opening; have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.

What gap should I leave around the body?

Leave a 20 mm expansion gap between the brickwork and the sides and back of the body. Your installer plans the full opening and safe clearances.

Can it be built in indoors?

Yes. Homefires supports an indoor installation. Follow the instruction manual, and have a competent installer plan the chimney, clearances and ventilation.

What does the warranty cover?

Homefires warrants the EconoMaster firebox for five years against faulty workmanship or materials under normal use. Loose, replaceable parts are not covered, and neither are rust, misuse, water damage or damage from the installation. Keep the braai maintained. Ask us for the full terms.

Can you help with my setup?

Yes. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote. Arrange installation with an independent installer.
