A long grate.
A fire you control.
Stack your logs across the 1,185 mm basket grate, with the pan underneath to catch the ash. Light up, set the damper and let the fire settle in. This single-sided open fireplace warms the room with radiated and convection heat, and its mild-steel body builds into your wall, with the gather on top leading to the flue.
The log pan and gas grate versions are separate products, not part of this one.

EVENINGS IN
Two chairs, a long fire, nowhere to be.
The lamps are low, the logs are crackling and the long grate glows from end to end. Pull the armchairs in, light a candle and let a cold evening slow right down. A fire this wide makes every seat in the room feel like the best one.
The plastered chimney breast, tiled hearth, furniture, candles, plants and décor are not included. Plan the flue, chimney and clearances with an independent installer.
A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING
Plan the chimney with the fire.
THE DAMPER
Damper control, built in.
The fireplace comes with damper control, so the fire is yours to manage. Read the installation manual under Plan your setup before the first fire.
THE FLUE
A rectangular outlet on top.
The gather rises 252 mm above the body to a 500 × 350 mm outlet. Flue pipes come in 1,200 mm sections. Plan the adaptor, flue and cowl with your installer before the walls go up.

GOOD TO KNOW
Plan your setup.
Read your installation manual before you plan the installation.
What is included?
The Jetmaster Universal 1200 in mild steel: a single-sided, built-in open fireplace with a basket grate and pan and damper control. The flue adaptor, flue pipes, cowl and an insulation blanket are options on this page. Building work and installation are not included.
Which fuel does it burn?
Wood. Stack the logs in the basket grate, which is 1,185 mm wide and 410 mm deep, and the pan below catches the ash.
How does it heat the room?
It warms the room with radiated and convection heat, and the damper control lets you manage the fire. Ask us for the heat output before you plan your room: we confirm the current South African figure with Jetmaster before we give you a number.
Is the flue included?
No. The gather has a rectangular 500 × 350 mm outlet, and flue pipes come in 1,200 mm sections. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we confirm the right parts for your setup before you order.
Where does the flue connect?
At the rectangular 500 × 350 mm outlet on top of the gather, which rises 252 mm above the body. An adaptor takes the outlet to a round flue: we confirm the right one for this fireplace with you.
How much space do I need?
The body is 1,249 mm wide, 600 mm deep and 1,000 mm high, without the gather, and the gather adds 252 mm. The front frame makes the face wider than the body: ask us for the frame size before you build. These are product dimensions, not a building opening. Have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.
Can I get a gas grate or a log pan instead?
Yes, as a different version. Jetmaster makes the Universal 1200 with a log pan, a standard gas grate or a deluxe gas grate; the gas grate measures 1,100 × 340 mm. This listing is the basket grate and pan version. Ask us if you want another.
What does the guarantee cover?
Ask us for Jetmaster's current guarantee terms for this fireplace before you order.
Can you help with my setup?
Yes. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote. We do not install, so arrange installation with an independent installer.
