Easy to feed.
Feed the fire through the glass front door, or slip a log in through the side door. Logs up to 45 cm fit, so there is less sawing to do. Vermiculite plates line the firebox, secondary combustion works on the fire, and Version 2 has larger air inlets and secondary air holes. An ash tray keeps the clean-up quick.

SLOW MORNINGS, WARM ROOMS
The best seat in the house is by the fire.
A cold winter morning, a mug of coffee and a little one pointing at the flames. Add another log through the side door and settle back with a book. With the TAI 45 in the study, everyone suddenly wants to work from home.
The flue pipe, stone hearth plate, bookshelves, furniture and décor are not included. Have an independent installer confirm the hearth, flue route and clearances.
A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING
Feed it, clean it, connect it.
THE ASH
An ash tray is included.
The ash tray keeps the clean-up after a long night quick and tidy. Let the ash cool fully before you empty it.
THE CONNECTIONS
Top or rear: plan the route.
The 150 mm flue connects at the top or the rear. At the rear, its centre is 665 mm above the floor. Plan the route and the flue parts with an independent installer.

GOOD TO KNOW
Plan your setup.
Read your instruction manual before you plan the installation.
What is included?
The Dovre TAI 45 Version 2 stove in black, with the glass front door, the side loading door and an ash tray. Flue pipes, other accessories and installation are not included.
Which fuel does it burn?
Wood. The firebox takes logs up to 45 cm long, and you can load them through the front door or the side door. Burn dry firewood and follow Dovre's manual.
How much heat does it give?
Ask us for the heat output before you plan your room. The published figures for this model differ, so we confirm the South African figure with the supplier before we give you a number.
Where does the flue connect?
At the top or the rear, through a 150 mm flue connection. At the rear, the centre is 665 mm above the floor. On top, the collar brings the height to 841 mm. We confirm the flue parts for your setup, and an independent installer plans the route.
Is the flue included?
No. Flue pipes and other accessories are sold separately, because they depend on your room and roof. Send a photo, your room measurements and roof details for a product and flue configuration quote.
How much space does it need?
The stove is 615 mm wide, 800 mm high (841 mm with the top collar) and 425 mm deep seen from above, and it weighs 140 kg. Dovre's minimum distances to combustible materials are 1,400 mm in front, 500 mm at the sides, 600 mm behind and 750 mm to the ceiling, and 100 mm to non-combustible materials. Your installer applies the full list from the manual.
What is new in Version 2?
This is the TAI 45 Version 2 (TAI45WD/V2). Dovre gave it larger air inlets and secondary air holes. The firebox is lined with vermiculite inner plates, and the stove has secondary combustion.
Is it freestanding?
Yes. The TAI 45 is a freestanding wood stove on legs, so it needs no built-in opening. Place it on a suitable hearth, with the clearances from the manual.
What does the guarantee cover?
Dovre's South African distributor gives a limited warranty of five years on the main stove body, and one year on electrical components where there are any. Ask us for the full terms.
Can you help with my setup?
Yes. Send a photo, your room measurements and roof details for a product and flue configuration quote. We do not install, so arrange installation with an independent installer.
