One electroplated grid runs the full length of the braai, so the chops, wors and veg all go on together. Build your fire of wood or charcoal underneath, hang a potjie from the holder and let the ash pan and ash drawer take the mess. Home Fires builds the body from 3 mm mild steel in black, on a box stand of its own.
It needs a level, solid, non-combustible floor.

Midday sun, a warm wall and the smell of the coals. Steaks and veg sizzle side by side on the long grid while the salad waits on the table. It is the kind of lunch that rolls on into the afternoon, and the 800 is ready for the next round.
The courtyard wall, paving, table, plants, salad and food are not included. Ask us to confirm the flue pipe for your setup.

THE FLOOR
Stand it on solid ground.
Home Fires asks for a level, solid, non-combustible floor under the box stand. Choose that spot first, then have an independent installer check the flue and the safe clearances around the braai.
THE FINISH
Black steel, or stainless to order.
The standard body is 3 mm mild steel in black, and touch-up paint comes with it for small marks. 3CR12 or 304 stainless steel is a special order, quoted separately.

What is included?
The 800 Super Deluxe braai in black mild steel on its box stand, with a bottom door, one full-length electroplated grid, grid lifters, an ash pan and ash drawer and a potjie holder. A spade, a poker, an escutcheon plate, the rotating cowl base and top, insulation material and touch-up paint come with it. The ember maker is not included. The flue pipe and collar on this page are add-ons, sold separately.
Does it come with a flue pipe?
The rotating cowl base and top are included. Ask us to confirm the flue pipe supplied with this bundle, and its length, before you plan the height of your setup. A flue pipe and a collar for the 800 are add-ons on this page. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote.
Which fuel can I use?
Wood or charcoal. There is no ember maker on the 800, so let the fire burn down to coals under the grid before you start cooking.
How much cooking space is there?
One electroplated grid, 780 mm wide and 460 mm deep, across the full length of the braai. Grid lifters come with it, and the potjie holder takes a potjie for something slow.
Where does the flue connect?
At the outlet on top of the braai, which measures 310 × 250 mm and sits 1,760 mm above the floor. Have an independent installer plan the flue height and its support for your spot.
Where can it stand?
On a level, solid, non-combustible floor. It is an open freestanding braai on its own box stand, with the fire bed 800 mm above the floor. Have an independent installer check the flue and the safe clearances for your spot.
How much space do I need?
The body is 805 mm wide and 540 mm deep, and the box stand is 870 mm wide and 545 mm deep. The height to the top of the outlet is 1,760 mm, without the flue. Opened, the bottom door reaches 405 mm in front of the body. These are product dimensions: have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.
Is there a top door?
A loose top door is an option for this braai and does not come with it. Ask us about it before you order.
Can I get it in stainless steel?
Yes, as a special order. Home Fires makes it in 3CR12 or 304 stainless steel, quoted separately. Ask us for a quote.
How do I look after it?
Touch-up paint comes with the braai for small marks on the black finish. The instruction manual under Plan your setup covers use and care.
