Slide a chicken onto the rotisserie, or fill the stainless-steel grids with chops and wors. The Sizzler insert lights with a piezo ignition, the light keeps the braai going after dark, and a drip tray catches the drips. Keep the doors open while you cook, then pop the 6 mm grids in the dishwasher once the plates are cleared.
LUNCH IN THE COURTYARD
Midday sun on the courtyard walls, red geraniums in their pots and a chicken turning slowly on the spit. Gran checks the colour, the little one counts the turns, and the table is nearly set. Some lunches are worth the wait.
The wall, counters, table, chairs, plants, food and tableware are not included. The braai is built into brickwork on site: plan it with your builder and an independent installer.
A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING
THE DRAUGHT
Natural draught uses a chimney, with no assisted extraction. Forced draught needs extraction components, bought separately. Choose the version on the page before you build.
THE BUILD
The Entertainer must be built into brickwork on supporting lintels. It cannot be retrofitted into an existing hole, so plan it with your builder from the start.
THE CONNECTIONS
A registered gas installer connects the gas: LPG as standard, natural gas on request. The light, the rotisserie and any extractor need an electrical connection by a qualified electrician.
MEASURE THE WHOLE SETUP
Plan the box, the flue and the lintels together.
The casing is 725 mm high. With natural draught, the top of the flue is 1,050 mm above the base; with forced draught, the top of the outlet is 770 mm. These are product dimensions, not a building opening: have your installer check the actual unit.
GOOD TO KNOW
Read your installation manual before you plan the build.
The stainless-steel Entertainer box with its 4-burner Sizzler gas insert, a rotisserie kit, a light fitting, a stainless-steel drip tray and a stainless-steel dust cover. The chimney, the extraction components for forced draught, the gas and electrical connections and the building work are not included.
Gas only: it is not for wood or charcoal fires. The Sizzler insert runs on LPG as standard. Natural gas is available on request, but it must be specified before supply, so tell us which gas you have before you order. Chad-O-Chef gives a maximum input of 3.9 kWh per burner; performance depends on the gas. A registered gas installer must connect it.
No. The Deluxe comes with a rotisserie kit instead of a warmer tray. The rotisserie needs an electrical connection, done by a qualified electrician.
Natural draught uses a chimney, with no assisted extraction; its flue is 300 × 200 mm. Forced draught has a 200 × 200 mm outlet and needs extraction components, bought separately. Choose the version on the page, and ask us for a quote for your setup.
The cooking area is 692 mm wide and 350 mm deep, over four burners. The grids are 6 mm stainless-steel bar and dishwasher safe.
The front frame is 900 mm wide and 800 mm high, with a 15 mm side projection on each side. The casing behind it is 800 mm wide, 500 mm deep and 725 mm high. With natural draught, the top of the flue is 1,050 mm above the base; with forced draught, the top of the outlet is 770 mm. These are product dimensions, not a building opening.

Chad-O-Chef's manual shows an estimated standard layout: the lower lintel support 800 mm above the floor, 720 mm from that support to the top lintel, and the top of the gas grill about 1,020 mm above the floor. Use it as a guide only, not as a cut-out size. Your builder works from the actual unit and the manual.
No. It is for domestic outdoor use, and a patio works when it has at least one open side. Keep the doors open while the braai is in use or still hot.
Choose it on the page: Chad-O-Chef offers an inland grade and a coastal grade of stainless steel. If you are not sure which suits your spot, ask us before you order.
Chad-O-Chef gives a 3-year guarantee from the date of purchase, subject to its terms. It covers working components and manufacturing defects. Rust or cosmetic wear, misuse and incorrect installation are not covered. To claim, you need your proof of purchase and the applicable compliance certificate.
