The Double Sided 800 is a flueless gas fireplace that sits in an opening through a double-brick wall, so the lounge and the dining room share one fire. It lights with a piezo spark and has an oxygen depletion system for safety. The flames rise from black ash with white stones around it, in a brushed stainless-steel or matte black frame.

DINNER ON THE OTHER SIDE

Supper on one side.
Feet up on the other.

Candles on the table, a glass of red and good company on the far side of the wall, while the lounge waits on this one. The Double Sided 800 links the two rooms with one fire, with no wood to carry in and no ash to sweep. Stay at the table a little longer.

The wall, furniture, table setting, candles and décor are not included. A registered gas installer builds in and connects the fireplace.

BEFORE YOU BUILD

THE WALL

Made for a double-brick wall.

It fits a double-brick wall with about 10 mm of screed on each side, with two supporting lintels above. The wall opening is 550 mm high, and its width is in the manual.

THE ROOM

Pick the right room.

Without permanent ventilation, the room must be at least 160 m³. We recommend it for rooms up to 399 m³ (108 m²), depending on room conditions.

THE GAS

LPG or natural gas.

Choose LPG or natural gas. On LPG it uses at most 0.64 kg an hour, and its maximum gas input is 8.7 kW. A gas installer registered with SAQCC Gas for your gas type installs it.

Plan the wall opening before you build.

The frame is 1,070 mm wide and the body 810 mm wide and 510 mm high, with 250 mm between the two frame planes. The curved covers stand out beyond the frames, so your gas installer confirms the full depth, the frame height and the opening.

What is included?

The Double Sided 800 fireplace in the frame finish you choose, with the burner, the decorative stones and the instruction manual. The wall opening, the lintels, the gas supply pipework and the installation are not included.

Which gas does it use?

LPG or natural gas. Confirm your gas type with us before you order. On LPG it uses at most 0.64 kg of gas an hour.

What size room is it for?

We recommend it for rooms up to 399 m³ (108 m²); the right size depends on room conditions. Its maximum gas input is 8.7 kW. Ask us to check it against your room.

Does it need a flue or chimney?

No. It is a flueless gas fireplace, so there is no flue or chimney to build. An oxygen depletion system, with an 18.5% oxygen minimum, is part of its safety system.

Does the room need ventilation?

Without permanent ventilation, the room must be at least 160 m³. A smaller room needs permanent ventilation, planned by your gas installer with the manual.

How is it built in?

It fits a double-brick wall with about 10 mm of screed on each side, with two supporting lintels above the opening. The opening is 550 mm high, and its width follows from the body size in the manual. A gas installer registered with SAQCC Gas for your gas type installs and connects it.

How much clear space does it need?

To combustible materials, keep at least 100 mm at the sides (500 mm to curtains and fabric), 800 mm to the ceiling, 100 mm to the floor, carpet included, and 1,000 mm to furniture in front. Your installer follows the full manual.

Which frame and stones can I choose?

Choose a brushed stainless-steel or a matte black mild-steel frame on this page; both have heat-resistant coatings. Black ash with a white-stone surround is the standard burner finish. Black coals or fire glass are options, so ask us before you order.

What does the guarantee cover?

The fireplace has a two-year Chad-O-Chef guarantee, subject to its terms and conditions. Ask us for the full terms.

Can you help with my setup?

Yes. Send a photo and measurements of your wall for a product and configuration quote. We do not install, so arrange installation with an independent, registered gas installer.
