How delivery works

DeliveryHow it works

Because most of our products are huge, it’s difficult for us to keep stock of all of them. For this reason, we deliver a lot of our products directly from our suppliers and manufacturers, to offer you a great price and a fresh braai and a warm fireplace.

PRIORITY DELIVERYWe will make sure you are kept in the loop at every single step of the way and we will have your order processed as a priority. Tracking number included.

FREE DELIVERYLook, it’s free but we are unable to provide an exact time or take specific delivery requests as we are at the mercy of our suppliers. We still do our best to deliver as quickly as possible and in most cases we are much quicker than the stated turn around time.

HOW THE FIRE WORKS

Chad-O-Chef Fire Blade Firepit Burner.
Lit with a spark.

The Chad-O-Chef Fire Blade Firepit Burner sets curved steel blades around an LPG burner. A piezo spark lights it, and a control valve looks after the flame. Pick ceramic logs or fire glass, then choose black mild steel, Corten or stainless steel. It is made for the outdoors, so pull up a chair and stay a while.

For outdoor use only: it must not be installed indoors. A registered SAQCC Gas installer must fit it.

STAY OUT A LITTLE LONGER

The sun goes down.
The evening does not.

The light turns gold, the first chair gets pulled up and the conversation finds its stride. No wood to fetch and no smoke in your eyes. Just good company, a flame in the middle and nowhere else to be.

The gravel, chairs, tables and flowers are not included. Keep fabric and furniture 1,500 mm from the fire.

BEFORE THE FIRST FIRE

Easy to enjoy.
Worth planning.

THE FLAME

Logs or fire glass.

Go for ceramic logs with ceramic ash, or fire glass for a cleaner look. The log finish uses five gas logs and 2 kg of ash, and logs that lie side by side need a gap of at least 50 mm between them.

THE STEEL

Three steels to choose from.

Choose the blade housing in black mild steel, Corten or stainless steel to suit your outdoor space. Across the three, the housing steel is 2.5 to 3 mm thick.

THE GAS

Plan for LPG.

It runs on LPG at 2.8 kPa, through a regulator of at least 4 kg/hr, and burns at most 0.82 kg/hr. The gas inlet takes an 8 mm compression fitting, so your installer knows what to bring.

GOOD TO KNOW

Plan your setup.

Read your instruction manual before you plan the installation.

Read the instruction manual

What is included?

The curved blade housing with the OFP400 LPG burner, which has an igniter and a control valve. The log finish comes with ceramic logs and ceramic ash. The fire glass finish comes with fire glass and no logs. Ask us to confirm the regulator, hose and base for your setup. Installation is not included.

Can I use it indoors?

No. It is for outdoor use only and must not be installed indoors.

Which gas does it use?

LPG, at an operating pressure of 2.8 kPa, through a regulator of at least 4 kg/hr. It burns at most 0.82 kg/hr of LPG. Chad-O-Chef makes a separate natural-gas model, the OFP400-N, which this page does not sell.

How much heat does it give?

We have no rated heat output for this burner. The published figure is the maximum gas input, printed as 11.4 kWh in the manual and 11.4 kW/hr on the Chad-O-Chef product page, with a maximum gas energy input of 41 MJ/hr. These figures are the gas going in, not the heat coming out.

Which finishes can I choose?

For the burner: ceramic logs with ceramic ash, or fire glass (Diamond Black Glass on this page). For the housing: black mild steel, Corten or stainless steel.

How big is it?

The blade housing spans 750 mm and stands 330 mm high. Ask us for the full depth and the weight with the burner fitted.

How much space does it need?

Keep wood 800 mm away and fabric or furniture 1,500 mm away, with ceilings or timbers 1,500 mm above. The underside sits at least 300 mm off the floor, with a permanent free-air opening of at least 100 mm² under it. Have your installer check your site.

Who can install it?

A registered SAQCC Gas installer must fit it. We do not install, so arrange this with an independent installer who holds that registration.

How do I light it?

It has piezo spark ignition, with an igniter and a control valve. The ODS works to a minimum oxygen level of 18.5% O2. The instruction manual takes you through it.

What does the guarantee cover?

The fireplace has a two-year Chad-O-Chef guarantee, subject to terms. Ask us for the full terms, and to confirm how it applies to the blade housing.

Can you help with my setup?

Yes. Send a photo and measurements for a product and configuration quote. Arrange installation with an independent installer.
