The Vintage 50 is a cast-iron wood stove on four legs, with vermiculite plates lining the firebox. It takes logs up to 50 cm long, so you split less and enjoy the fire more. Secondary air washes over the glass to keep it cleaner for longer, and the ash pan lifts out with the glove provided.

When the evening turns cold, the best seat in the house is the armchair near the stove. Load a few logs, close the door and let the room fill with warmth while the flames settle. A blanket, a good book and nowhere else you need to be.
The flue pipe, slate hearth plate, log basket, furniture and décor are not included. Have an independent installer confirm the hearth, flue route and clearances.

THE FIRE
Room for 50 cm logs.
The firebox takes logs up to 50 cm long, and vermiculite plates line it. Burn dry firewood, and follow the manual supplied with the stove when you light it.
THE CONNECTIONS
Top or rear: plan the route.
The 150 mm flue connects at the top or the rear, which helps when you plan around a wall or a chimney. A 100 mm outside-air connection at the rear or underneath can bring the fire its air from outside.

What is included?
The Dovre Vintage 50 V2 wood stove: a cast-iron body on four legs, vermiculite plates lining the firebox, the front door with its handle, a 150 mm flue connection at the top or rear and a 100 mm outside-air connection at the rear or underneath. The flue pipes, cowl and hearth plate are not included.
Which fuel does it burn?
Wood. The firebox takes logs up to 50 cm long. Burn dry firewood, and ask us before you plan to burn anything else.
How much heat does it give?
The current Vintage 50 (V2) is rated at 11 kW nominal output, with 77% nominal efficiency. At part load it gives 5.6 kW. The Output Calculator uses the 11 kW nominal output to compare with your room. Insulation, ceiling height and climate change how warm a room feels.
Where does the flue connect?
At the top or the rear, through a 150 mm flue connection. For a rear connection, the centre is 545 mm above the floor. For a top connection, the centre is 145 mm from the rear of the body. Plan the route with an independent installer before you build.
Is the flue included?
No. The flue pipes, cowl and hearth plate depend on your room and roof. Send a photo, your room measurements and roof details for a product and flue configuration quote.
Can it draw air from outside?
Yes. It has a 100 mm outside-air connection at the rear or underneath. The rear connection's centre is 295 mm above the floor. Ask your installer whether your room needs outside air, and plan the duct with the manual supplied with the stove.
How much space does it need?
The stove is 690 mm wide, 690 mm high and 445 mm deep (500 mm with the rear connector), and the handle adds 50 mm on the right. The minimum distances to combustible materials are 1,200 mm in front, 350 mm at the sides and 200 mm behind, and 100 mm to non-combustible materials. Your installer confirms the clearances and the floor protection.
What is it made of?
The body is cast iron, and vermiculite plates line the firebox. The stove weighs about 155 kg, so check that your floor can carry it.
Is it freestanding?
Yes. The Vintage 50 stands on four legs, so it needs no built-in opening. Place it on a suitable hearth, with the clearances in the manual.
How do I clear the ash?
Lift out the ash pan with the glove provided and empty it. Clear away extra ash often, so the fire keeps drawing well.
Will the glass stay clean?
Dovre sends secondary air over the glass as well as the fire, so the glass doesn't get dirty as quickly and you keep your view of the flames.
