The C0700 is a closed-combustion insert that you build in, finished with a black trim plate. A precision-welded, thick steel body holds the fire, thermo-refractory fire bricks line the firebox, and the large glass door keeps the flames in view. Burn wood logs or a suitable smokeless anthracite, riddle the grate and let the ash drawer catch the rest.

SLOW MORNINGS

Morning light, and the fire still going.

Coffee in hand, proteas on the mantel and the sun just reaching the room. Behind the glass, the C0700 keeps a steady fire, so the lounge is warm before anyone has finished breakfast. A good start to a winter weekend at home.

The chimney breast, timber mantel, hearth, furniture, flowers and décor are not included. Plan the flue and the installation with an independent installer.

A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING

Choose the fuel, plan the flue.

THE FUEL

Wood logs or smokeless anthracite.

Burn wood logs or a suitable smokeless anthracite. Never burn household or bituminous coal in it. Homefires rates it at 8 kW nominal on beech wood and 10 kW nominal on anthracite.

THE FLUE

Its own 125 mm flue.

The C0700 is vented and needs its own suitable flue, with a 125 mm flue pipe. It is not made for a shared flue system. Homefires asks for a flue at least 4.5 m high.

THE ASH

Riddle, then empty.

Riddle the grate so the ash falls into the ash drawer, then empty the drawer once the ash is cold.

What is included?

The C0700 closed-combustion insert with its trim plate: a precision-welded thick steel body, a large glass door with a large handle, thermo-refractory fire-brick linings, a riddling grate and an ash drawer. Flue pipes and accessories are sold separately, and we do not install.

How much heat does it give?

Homefires rates the C0700 at 8 kW nominal on beech wood and 10 kW nominal on anthracite, with a maximum of 10 kW. Our heat calculator uses 9 kW, the middle of the 8 kW nominal and the 10 kW maximum.

Which fuel can I burn?

Wood logs or a suitable smokeless anthracite. Never burn household or bituminous coal in it.

Is the flue included?

No. The C0700 needs its own suitable flue with a 125 mm flue pipe, and it is not suitable for a shared flue system. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the parts for your setup.

How high must the flue be?

Homefires asks for a flue at least 4.5 m high, from the top of the outlet to the top of the chimney. Your installer confirms the height for your roof and building.

How much space do I need?

The insert is 700 mm wide, 482 mm high and 341.5 mm deep, or 411.5 mm deep with the handle. The trim plate is 790 mm wide and 571 mm high, and the door is 656 × 442 mm. These are product sizes, not the opening. Ask us for the installation details, and have your installer check the actual unit and clearances.

Does it need an outside-air connection?

No. The C0700 has no outside-air connection. Your installer plans the flue and the installation with the manual.

How does the ash come out?

Riddle the grate so the ash falls into the ash drawer, then empty the drawer once the ash is cold.

What does the guarantee cover?

Homefires gives an extended 3-year limited guarantee on the main body when you register it within 30 days; otherwise it is 12 months. It covers the first owner at the first installed location, and exclusions apply. The manual's conditions, such as installation by a competent installer, apply too. Ask us for the full terms.
