One fire, two faces.
Glass on both sides.
The 1000 is built in with a face on each side, so one fire shows in two spaces, behind four hinged glass doors. Burn wood or anthracite on the fire grate, set the built-in damper and let the natural convection system spread the warmth. The ash drops into the ash drawer, and touch-up paint keeps the black finish looking fresh.

SLOW AFTERNOONS, TOGETHER

Gran settles into her chair with a picture book, a little one curls up close and the fire crackles in the stone wall. On the other side, the kitchen gets the same warm view while supper slowly comes together. One fire, two rooms, and nobody misses out.
The stone wall, firewood, furniture, rugs and décor are not included. The flue and cowl are options. Plan the hearth, flue and clearances with an independent installer.

A natural convection system is built in. Homefires gives a heating volume of 210 m³ for the 1000, so send us your room sizes and we will check them with you.

Plan the body, gather and flue together.
The 755 mm body height does not include the 195 mm gather and outlet on top, or the flue. These are product sizes, not the masonry opening: leave a 20 mm expansion gap at the sides and back, and have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.

What is included?
The 1000 double-sided fireplace in black mild steel, with four hinged glass doors (both faces fitted), a fire grate, a fire grid, an ash drawer, a built-in damper system and a natural convection system. Insulation material, touch-up paint and a guarantee certificate come with it. The flue pipes, joining collars and cowl are options, sold separately.
Which fuel does it burn?
Wood or anthracite. Do not burn coal or briquettes in it.
How much heat does it give?
Homefires gives a heating volume of 210 m³ for the 1000. We do not have a heat output rating for this model, so send us your room sizes and we will check them with you before you order.
Is the flue included?
No. The 300 x 500 flue pipes, joining collars, a large slip-on cowl base and a large cowl top are options that you choose on this page. The flue pipes come in 1.2 m and 2.4 m lengths. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the parts for your setup.
Where does the flue connect?
At the outlet on top of the gather. The gather and outlet rise 195 mm above the body, and the outlet measures 495 × 305 mm. Have an independent installer plan the flue route, height and support for your building.
How much space does it need?
The body is 1,120 mm wide, 595 mm deep and 755 mm high, and the gather and outlet rise 195 mm above it. The frame is 1,190 mm wide and 835 mm high. These are product sizes, not the masonry opening. Have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances before building.
What clearances does it need?
Leave a 20 mm expansion gap between the sides and back of the body and the brickwork. Keep heat-sensitive materials at the sides 300 mm away, and keep a shelf or mantel at least 450 mm above the hot-air outlet. The manual has the full instructions.
What hearth does it need?
Extend the hearth at least 350 mm in front of the fireplace and at least 200 mm at the sides. Keep the metal flue at least 200 mm from wood trusses. Your independent installer confirms the details for your building.
What does the guarantee cover?
Homefires guarantees the firebox for 15 years from purchase against faulty workmanship or material, under normal use. Replaceable parts such as the glass doors, grids, grates and ash pans are not covered, and neither is rust from adverse conditions or no maintenance, misuse, water leakage or installation damage. Ask us for the full terms.
How do I look after it?
Paint and maintain the fireplace regularly, as the guarantee asks; touch-up paint comes with it. Empty the ash drawer once the ash is cold.
Can you help with my setup?
Yes. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote. We do not install, so arrange installation with an independent installer.
