The charcoal grid is 680 mm wide and moves up and down to suit the coals, and the ash goes into a removable drawer. Hang a potjie, switch on the light and close the doors when you're done.

The light turns gold, the boerewors sizzles over the coals and the kids squeeze in one more game before supper. The gas side waits for the next round, or for tomorrow's quick lunch. A built-in braai that keeps the whole afternoon going.
The face-brick wall, counters, table, chairs, plants, food and garden are not included. Plan the flue, gas connection and clearances with an independent installer.

THE COALS
A wide grid that moves with the fire.
The charcoal grid is 680 mm wide. Raise or lower it to suit the coals, hang a potjie from the hook, and pull out the ash drawer once everything has cooled.
THE DOORS
Neat when the braai is over.
Separate top and bottom doors close the front opening, so the braai looks tidy when it is not in use. The light fitting helps once the sun goes down.

Plan the body, gather and flue together.
The 1,055 mm body height does not include the 300 mm gather or the flue. These are product dimensions, not a building opening, so have your installer check the actual unit, the open door and safe clearances.

What is included?
The 1500 Combo braai with a black 3 mm mild-steel shell and separate top and bottom doors, a stainless-steel 4-burner gas griller (model 9904) and a model 700 table braai for wood or charcoal. The table braai has a height-adjustable grid and a removable ash drawer. A potjie hook, a light fitting, insulation material and touch-up paint come with it. The flue pipe, collar and cowl are optional add-ons.
Which fuel can I use?
Gas on the gas griller, and wood or charcoal in the table braai. Use one side or both, depending on the day.
Which gas does the griller use?
The manual for the 9904 gas insert lists a heat output of 14 kW for LPG and for natural gas. That figure is for the gas burners, not for heating a room. Tell us which gas you have before you order, and have an independent gas installer make the connection.
How much cooking space is there?
The charcoal grid is 680 × 460 mm and moves up and down. The gas insert is 700 mm wide and 500 mm deep overall, with four burners. The potjie hook takes a potjie for slow cooking.
Is the flue included?
No. The flue pipe, collar and cowl are optional add-ons that you can choose on this page. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the right parts for your setup.
Where does the flue connect?
At the outlet on top of the gather. The gather rises 300 mm above the body, and the outlet is 600 mm wide. Confirm the outlet depth with us before you order flue parts. Homefires' installation guidance gives a minimum chimney height of 2,500 mm.
How much space do I need?
The body is 1,540 mm wide, 645 mm deep and 1,055 mm high, and the gather rises 300 mm above it. The front frame is 1,590 mm wide and 1,085 mm high. Opened, the lower door reaches 510 mm in front of the body. Homefires' guidance leaves a 20 mm expansion gap at the sides and the back. These are product dimensions, not a building opening.
How far must the gas griller be from combustible materials?
Keep 250 mm at the sides, 250 mm at the back and 1,500 mm above the cooking surface. Your installer applies these together with the braai's own installation instructions.
How do I look after it?
Touch-up paint comes with the braai, so you can refresh small marks on the black shell. Empty the ash drawer once the ash is cold, and read the instruction manual for use and care.
