Fold the ash pan out and it holds the fire. Set the removable stainless-steel grill at the height that suits your coals, and braai. Once the coals and ash are cold, empty the pan, clean it and fold it up as the cover. On a small patio or courtyard, you get a proper braai without giving up floor space.

What is included?

The mild-steel back plate, stainless-steel laser-cut grill, height-adjustment brackets and fold-away ash pan. Wall fixings are not specified with the unit; confirm what is needed for your wall.

Where can I use it?

Use it outdoors in a well-ventilated, open area on a suitable non-combustible masonry wall. Keep people, plants, furniture and other combustible materials clear of the heat. This open braai has no chimney or smoke canopy.

Which fuel can I use?

Use a controlled wood or charcoal fire for outdoor braai cooking. Keep the fire contained in the ash pan. Do not use treated timber or household waste.

What size is it?

The back plate is 850 mm wide and 750 mm high. The open projection is 507 mm. The ash pan is 807 mm wide and 507 mm deep, with an 83 mm rim. These are product dimensions, not fixing-hole centres or safety clearances.

Which wall and fixings are suitable?

Have a competent installer check the masonry, wall condition, fixing positions and fasteners for the braai and cooking load. Do not mount it on combustible cladding, a lightweight partition or unsupported plaster. Confirm the exact fitting instructions and fixings before work begins.

How does it fold away?

Let the braai, coals and ash cool fully. Remove cold ash and clean the pan before folding it up as the cover. Remove and store the grill as needed; check the latch before leaving it closed.

Can I adjust the grill?

Yes. The removable grill uses height-adjustment brackets so you can change its position above the coals. Move it with suitable heat protection and avoid touching hot metal.

How do I care for it?

Empty only cold ash, clean the grill and keep the braai dry. Wipe and dry the steel after use. Fold it away only when cool and clean.

What does the guarantee cover?

Homefires guarantees the firebox for 15 years from the date of purchase against faulty workmanship or materials, including warping, when the fire is made in the ash pan. The grid, ash pan and other replaceable parts are not covered, and neither is rust from missing maintenance, misuse or water leaks, or damage from incorrect installation. Keep the braai painted and maintained. Ask us for the full terms.
