Burn wood in the ember maker and rake fresh coals under the wide grid whenever the next round is ready. Hang a potjie from the potjie holder, keep the first round in the warming drawer and switch on the light as the sun goes down. Insulation material and touch-up paint come with it, so the build and the finish are taken care of.
UNDER THE THATCH
Boerewors and chops on the grid, coals glowing in the ember maker and two helpers already carrying plates to the table. Built into your lapa or braai room, the 1500 Super Deluxe has the width for a family supper that turns into a long, easy evening.
The thatched roof, wall, counters, table, chairs, plants, food and tableware are not included. The flue pipe, collar and cowl are optional add-ons. Plan the flue, support and clearances with an independent installer.
MADE FOR BIG BRAAI DAYS
THE FIRE
Burn wood in the ember maker and rake fresh coals under the grid whenever the fire needs them. Charcoal works too, so pick the fuel that suits the day. The spade and poker come with the braai.
THE GRID
The grid is 1,225 mm wide and 550 mm deep, with grid lifters to move it while it is hot. Hang a potjie from the potjie holder for something slow alongside.
THE BUILD
The body is 3 mm mild steel. Cover the sides, back and top with fibreglass insulation and leave a 20 mm expansion gap at the sides and back. Insulation material comes with the braai.
MEASURE THE WHOLE SETUP
Plan the body, gather and flue together.
The 1,050 mm body height does not include the 305 mm gather above it, or the flue. These are product dimensions, not a building opening: plan the recess with your installer, who checks the actual unit, the open flap and safe clearances.
GOOD TO KNOW
Read your instruction manual before you plan the installation.
