SMOKE AND SEAR, ONE BRAAI

Low and slow, or flame and fast.

Fill the hopper with wood pellets and set the heat. Rapid React PID control holds your temperature, the SmokeBoost setting intensifies the smoky flavour, and DirectFlame cooking with a full-grate Sear Zone takes over when it is time to sear. Food probes report back to the display and the Weber Connect app, so there is no guessing.

Weber Searwood 600 on a paved yard with gravel and a cream wall in late-afternoon sun, lid open and chicken on the grates

GOLDEN HOUR, SORTED

Chicken on before the sun sets.

Top up the pellets, set the heat and let the chicken take on that wood-fired colour while the light turns gold. Check the app, pour a drink and call everyone outside when the probe says it is time.

The bag of pellets, food, plants and pots are not included.

A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING

One braai, many ways to cook.

THE FIRE

Sear across the whole grate.

DirectFlame cooking and the full-grate Sear Zone put the whole grate to work for searing, crisping and browning, and the maximum cooking temperature is 315 °C.

THE CONTROLS

Check the cook from your phone.

Rapid React PID control heats up fast, holds the temperature you set and wins it back after you open the lid. Watch and adjust the cook over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in the Weber Connect app, with the food probes reporting back.

THE EXTRAS

Add a griddle or a rotisserie.

You can add a griddle insert, a heavy-duty rotisserie and Weber Crafted cooking grates and grillware to the Searwood. They are sold separately: ask us about them when you order.

GOOD TO KNOW

Plan your setup.

Read your instruction manual before your first cook.

What is included?

The Weber Searwood 600 pellet braai on two all-weather wheels, with plated-steel cooking grates, a warming rack, one side table, the digital controller and food probes for the two probe ports. Wood pellets, the griddle insert, the rotisserie and Weber Crafted accessories are sold separately.

Which fuel does it use?

Wood pellets. The hopper takes one full 20 lb bag. That size is only given in pounds.

How much cooking space is there?

The primary cooking area is 2,710 cm², and the warming rack adds 1,470 cm², for 4,180 cm² in total. The cooking grates are plated steel.

How hot does it get?

The maximum cooking temperature is 315 °C. It heats up in 15 minutes or less, in Weber's lab test at 25 °C with premium hardwood pellets, and cooks evenly. Rapid React PID control holds the temperature you set, and the SmokeBoost setting intensifies the smoky flavour. Ask us about the lowest setting if you plan very slow cooks.

Can I control it from my phone?

Yes. Connect it over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, then monitor and control the cook in the Weber Connect app. The food probes plug into the two probe ports and show the food's temperature on the display and in the app.

How do I clean it?

Easily. The pull and clean grease and ash system sits at the front of the braai. Grease and ash collect in the grease tray at the bottom of the cookbox and run to the grease catch, so you can clear them out without a vacuum. The lid has a porcelain-enamelled finish that helps it stand up to the weather.

Which extras can I add?

You can add a griddle insert, a heavy-duty rotisserie and Weber Crafted cooking grates and grillware. They are not included: ask us about them when you order.

Where can I use it?

Somewhere with space around it. Keep it 610 mm from anything that can burn and 3 m from a pool or pond. The instruction manual gives the full safety rules.

How much space do I need?

With the lid closed, it is 980 mm wide, 585 mm deep and 1,160 mm high. With the lid open, allow 1,510 mm of height and 725 mm of depth; the width stays 980 mm. Add the 610 mm clearance to anything that can burn. Its listed weight is 57 kg.

What does the warranty cover?

Weber's limited warranty varies by part. The cookbox and parts not listed separately have five years. Electrical parts have three years, and so do the cooking grates, burn pot, heat diffuser, heat deflector and controller bezel. Ask us for the full terms.

Can you help me choose?

Yes. Tell us how many people you cook for and send a photo and the measurements of your space, and we will help you check that the Searwood 600 is the right size.
