AN ISLAND FOR THE FIRE

Two grids around one fire.

The Qube gives you two ways to cook: an open braai grid and a flat-top cooking grid. Feed wood through the large central opening without stopping the braai, and keep the food warm on the warmer tray. When the fire is out and the braai has cooled, fold down the side tables.

Afternoon sun on a warm yellow wall, aloes in their pots and the fire going in the middle. Gogo turns the lamb chops while her grandson waits beside her, plate in hand and eyes on the grid. Everyone knows the best chop goes to whoever waited longest.

The plates, bowls, baskets, pot and plant on the shelves are not included, and neither are the food, oil, board, cloth, tongs or the courtyard.

Add wood without stopping.

The fire burns in the large central opening, so you can add wood while you cook and keep the braai going. Grill on the open grid or cook on the flat top.

Two wheels and side tables that fold down make it easy to move the Qube around your outdoor space. Set it on a level surface before you light the fire.

THE COVER

Covered between fires.

The body is rust-resistant and powder coated, for outdoor use. A canvas cover comes with this Qube.

Which fuel does it use?

Wood. It is a freestanding wood braai for outdoor use. Add wood through the large central opening while you cook.

How do I cook on it?

It has an open braai grid and a flat-top cooking grid, so you can grill over the open grid or cook on the flat top. The grilling surface measures 600 × 600 mm on the outside, around the central opening, and the cooking surface is 4 mm thick.

Can I move it around?

Yes. It rolls on two wheels, and the side tables fold down. Chad-O-Chef lists it at 60 kg.
