An oxygen depletion pilot is part of the safety system, and there is no flue or chimney to build. The body is stainless steel with heat-resistant coatings, and at full flame it uses up to 0.84 kg of LPG an hour.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

Everyone on the couch, blankets out and the lights turned low. The long line of flame becomes the centre of the room, the stories come out, and nobody is in a hurry to go anywhere. Movie night can wait a while.
The feature wall, shelves, couches, rug, coffee table and décor are not included. A registered gas installer builds in the fireplace and connects the gas.

Chad-O-Chef suggests it for rooms up to 466 m³. It must not go in a bedroom, bathroom, toilet or sauna, and no TV or other electrical equipment may sit above it.
THE GAS
LPG or natural gas.
Chad-O-Chef makes it for both, so tell us your gas type before you order. A registered gas installer for your gas type connects it, and a qualified gas installer services it at least once every two years.

Plan the cut-out, recess and lintel together.
The frame is 1,200 × 500 mm and the wall cut-out 1,090 × 450 mm, with a recess 200 to 250 mm deep. Your registered gas installer checks the wall, the lintel and the clearances on site.

What is included?
The Contemporary fireplace in the frame and back you choose, with the burner, the decorative stones and the instruction manual. The wall recess and lintel, the gas pipework and the installation are not included.
Which frame and back can I choose?
The stainless-steel frame is standard, and a matte black frame is available on request. Behind the flame, choose a plain stainless-steel back or a Midnight Mirror back. Ask us to confirm your combination before you order.
Which gas does it use?
LPG or natural gas. Tell us your gas type before you order. At full flame it uses up to 0.84 kg of LPG an hour, and the gas connects at an 8 mm compression fitting.
What size room is it for?
Chad-O-Chef suggests it for rooms up to 466 m³, depending on insulation, climate and the room itself, and gives a maximum gas input of 11.4 kW. If your room is smaller than the minimum size in the manual, your installer must design permanent ventilation.
Does it need a flue or chimney?
No. It is an indoor flueless gas fireplace, so there is no flue or chimney to build. Check the room rules below before you choose where it goes.
Which rooms can it go in?
It must not go in a bedroom, bathroom, toilet or sauna. No TV or other electrical equipment may go above it, and Chad-O-Chef recommends 500 mm between the fireplace and an air vent.
How is it installed?
It is built into a single-sided wall recess, 200 to 250 mm deep, supported by a load-bearing lintel. The wall cut-out is 1,090 × 450 mm. A registered gas installer for your gas type must install and connect it.
How much clear space does it need?
To combustible materials, keep at least 100 mm at the sides (500 mm to curtains and fabric), 800 mm to the ceiling, 100 mm to the floor, carpet included, and 1,000 mm to combustible furniture in front. A shelf above it must be heat-resistant masonry, 500 mm above the top of the fireplace. Your installer follows the full manual.
Which burner finish can I choose?
Black ash on the burner, with white stones around it, is standard. Black coals or fire glass are the alternatives: tell us which one you want before you order.
How do I light and look after it?
Light it with the piezo spark ignition. An oxygen depletion pilot is part of its safety system. Have a qualified gas installer service it at the first sign of a fault, and at least once every two years.
What does the guarantee cover?
Chad-O-Chef gives a two-year guarantee, subject to its terms. Ask us for the full terms.
Can you help with my setup?
Yes. Send a photo and measurements of your wall for a product and configuration quote. We do not install, so book an independent gas installer, registered for your gas type.
