Nominal 7 kW. The calculator uses 7 kW.

Room dimensions (m)

For a sloped or open-truss ceiling, use the average height between the lowest and highest points.

Consider roof and wall insulation, glazing and draughts. If unsure, compare the standard and poor settings.

A room-sizing estimate, not a full heat-loss survey. Climate, large windows, draughts and open stairways can change the output needed. We can help confirm a suitable fireplace.

How is this estimated?

Room volume × insulation allowance: 35 W/m³ for very good insulation, 40 W/m³ for standard insulation or 50 W/m³ for poor insulation. Divide by 1,000 for kW. The comparison uses the listed heat output of this fireplace. Ask us to confirm its operating range for your room.

How delivery works

DeliveryHow it works

Because most of our products are huge, it’s difficult for us to keep stock of all of them. For this reason, we deliver a lot of our products directly from our suppliers and manufacturers, to offer you a great price and a fresh braai and a warm fireplace.

PRIORITY DELIVERYWe will make sure you are kept in the loop at every single step of the way and we will have your order processed as a priority. Tracking number included.

FREE DELIVERYLook, it’s free but we are unable to provide an exact time or take specific delivery requests as we are at the mercy of our suppliers. We still do our best to deliver as quickly as possible and in most cases we are much quicker than the stated turn around time.

MORE ABOUT THE BRUT 200

Radiant warmth, and convection too.

The BRUT 200 burns wood and gives its heat two ways: radiant warmth from the stove itself, and convection that carries warm air into the room. Secondary combustion is built in, and Dovre rates it at 80% efficiency at its nominal output. Logs up to 35 cm long fit inside, and the ash tray keeps the clean-up simple.

GAME NIGHT AT HOME

One more round by the fire.

Exposed brick, a couch for two and a board game halfway through. The BRUT 200 glows on its long legs while the evening stretches out, and nobody is ready to call it a night just yet.

The flue pipe, hearth, couch, game and décor are not included. Have an independent installer confirm the hearth, flue and clearances.

A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING

Heat, flue and legs, planned.

THE HEAT

7 kW nominal, 80% efficient.

Dovre rates the BRUT 200 at 7 kW nominal heat output, with 80% efficiency at that output and 70% seasonal efficiency. The Output Calculator uses 7 kW to compare with your room.

THE FLUE

Straight up from the top.

The flue connects on top: a 150 mm connection, its centre 145 mm from the back edge. Dovre asks for an airtight connection to a correctly working flue. Send us a photo and measurements for a flue quote.

THE LEGS

Long legs, the fire raised.

Our photo and the current Home Fires list show the long-leg version: 980 mm to the top of the collar, with 275 mm from the floor to the casing. Dovre also makes a short-leg version, so ask us if you want it.

What is included?

The Dovre BRUT 200 in black, with its door and ash tray. Flue pipes, accessories and installation are not included: we quote the flue parts for your setup.

Which fuel can I burn?

Wood, in logs up to 35 cm long.

How much heat does it give?

7 kW nominal heat output, with 80% efficiency at that output and 70% seasonal efficiency. It combines radiant heat with convection. The Output Calculator uses 7 kW. Insulation, ceiling height and climate change how warm a room feels.

Where does the flue connect?

On top. The connection is 150 mm in diameter, and its centre sits 145 mm from the back edge of the stove. Dovre asks for an airtight connection to a correctly working flue, and recommends a competent, authorised installer.

Is the flue included?

No. Flue pipes and accessories are sold separately, because they depend on your room and roof. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote, and we will help you choose the right parts.

How much space does it need?

The BRUT 200 is 460 mm wide and 395 mm deep. On long legs it is 980 mm high to the top of the collar. The manual's minimum clearances are 1,000 mm in front, 400 mm at the rear and the sides and 750 mm to the ceiling, with 100 mm to non-combustible materials and a 350 mm floor radiation area. Your installer applies them with your local requirements.

Long legs or short legs?

Our photo and the current Home Fires list show the long-leg version, 980 mm to the top of the collar. Dovre also makes the BRUT 200 with short legs, 825 mm to the top of the collar. Ask us before you order if you want the short-leg version.

How heavy is it?

105 kg. Plan how it will be moved into place, and have your installer check that the floor can carry it.

What does the guarantee cover?

Home Fires lists a five-year limited warranty on the main stove body. Ask us for the full terms before you order.

Can you help with my setup?

Yes. Send a photo and your room measurements for a product and flue configuration quote. We do not install, so arrange installation with an independent installer.
