The B4 shows its fire through glass on both sides, so it can stand between two spaces or right in the middle of one. The firebox is 5 mm steel in a black high-heat finish, with firebricks inside and an ash pan for the clean-up. It burns wood, the flue connects on top, and its listed efficiency is 82%.
ONE FIRE, TWO SPACES
Friends linger over supper while the fire glows through to the lounge. With glass on both sides, the B4 stands between the two spaces, so the table and the couch both get a view of the flames. Pour another glass. Nobody needs to rush home tonight.
The flue pipe, furniture, lights, plants and tableware are not included. Have an independent installer confirm the hearth, flue route and clearances.
BEFORE THE FIRST FIRE
THE HEAT
The B4 gives 10 kW nominal and up to 12 kW maximum heat output, with a listed efficiency of 82%. The Output Calculator uses 11 kW, the middle of the two, to compare with your room.
THE PEDESTAL
The firebox stands on a pedestal with a 600 mm round foot and a rotatable base. Plan its position and the flue with your installer before you plan to turn it, and we recommend keeping furnishings 1,000 mm away.
THE FLUE
The flue connects on top, through a socket 204 mm across inside, for a 200 mm nominal flue pipe. Send us a photo and measurements for a flue quote.
MEASURE THE WHOLE SETUP
Plan the stand, the flue and the clearances together.
The body is 830 mm wide, and its top stands 858 mm above the floor. These are product dimensions, so have an independent installer check the actual unit, the hearth and the safe clearances on site.
GOOD TO KNOW
Read your instruction manual before you plan the installation.
The FLAMM B4 double-sided closed combustion fireplace in a black high-heat finish, on its rotatable pedestal, with the ash pan. Flue pipes, accessories and installation are not included: we quote the flue parts for your setup.
Wood. It is a closed combustion fireplace, with the fire behind glass on both sides.
10 kW nominal and up to 12 kW maximum heat output, with a listed efficiency of 82%. The Output Calculator uses 11 kW, the middle of the two. Insulation, ceiling height and climate change how warm a room feels.
The B4 stands on a pedestal with a rotatable base. Ask us how it turns with a fixed flue before you plan around it, and plan the position and the flue with your independent installer. We recommend keeping household furnishings 1,000 mm away on every side the fire faces.
At the top. The flue socket is 204 mm across inside and 209 mm outside, for a 200 mm nominal flue pipe. Have an independent installer plan the flue route, height and support for your building.
No. Chimney flue pipes and accessories are sold separately, because they depend on your room and roof. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote, and we will help you choose the right parts.
The body is 830 mm wide and 435 mm deep, or 483 mm across its front and rear projections. The 450 mm firebox sits on a 408 mm pedestal, so the top of the body is 858 mm above the floor, and the round foot is 600 mm across. Leave at least 1,200 mm to a combustible ceiling. We recommend 1,000 mm to household furnishings and at least 800 mm from combustible materials. Your installer must follow the installation manual that comes with the unit.
Use a floor protector that reaches 400 mm in front of the loading side and 200 mm beyond the sides and the rear. With glass on both sides, have your installer plan the second side too. Depending on your floor, the hearth can be a 125 mm constructional hearth or, in some cases, a 12 mm non-combustible board.
In a recess, leave a free air gap of 200 mm at the sides and the top and 50 mm at the rear. These gaps are for airflow and do not define a cut-out. Where a firewall is needed, use 100 mm of brick, concrete or stone.
A flue of about 4,500 mm could be satisfactory. Where an offset is allowed, a horizontal run is limited to 300 mm, followed by 2,500 mm of vertical flue, and in the manual's roof diagram the flue rises 600 mm. Your installer decides the route for your building and wind.
The main body has a five-year limited Home Fires warranty against manufacturing defects. Register it within 30 days, or the term drops to 12 months. It covers the first owner at the first installed location, for a unit bought from Home Fires or an authorised retailer and installed correctly; keep your purchase and installation records.
