The 940 is a single-sided, vent-free gas firebox that builds into a wall. Its mild-steel housing and façade come in black, and the coal-finish gas grate, model 700, sits in the open firebox. This bundle has the LPG burner. Home Fires also makes a natural-gas version, so ask us if that suits your home better.

The HomeFires 940 vent-free gas firebox, with its black mild-steel housing and façade, and the coal-finish gas grate, model 700, for LPG. The gas supply, the gas connection, building work and installation are not included.
Which gas does it use?
This bundle has the LPG burner (supplier code GASGRA700VFC). Home Fires also makes a natural-gas version. The gas you connect must match the burner and its data plate, so ask us before you order if your home runs on natural gas.
Does it need a flue?
No. The 940 is an open, vent-free firebox with no flue connection. Ask us to confirm the minimum room size and ventilation for your room before you order.
How much gas does it use?
At most 0.64 kg of gas an hour with this coal gas grate.
How much heat does it give?
We do not have a confirmed kW rating or room size for this firebox, so the Output Calculator has no figure for it. Send us your room sizes and we will check them with Home Fires before you order.
How much space do I need?
The façade is 940 mm wide and 835 mm high. The body behind it is 760 mm wide and 410 mm deep, 730 mm high at the front and 475 mm high at the back, where the top slopes down. These are product sizes, not a masonry recess. Have your installer check the actual unit and the opening before building.
