Slide a chicken onto the spit and let the 220 V motor turn it slowly over the coals. The adjustable charcoal starter gets the fire going, the swivel arm swings a potjie in and out, and the warming and utensil drawer keeps the tongs and the first round close. Ash drops into its own drawer, and the light fitting keeps the braai bright after dark.
This braai is made to order. We confirm the current list of what comes with it when you order.
SUPPER ON THE PATIO
The sun is going down, the boerewors is sizzling and someone is already holding out a plate. Built into your patio wall, a Super Deluxe in stainless steel turns an ordinary weeknight into supper outside, with the spit and the potjie arm waiting for the weekend.
The scene shows a Super Deluxe of this design at this braai's size. The wall cladding, counters, table, chairs, plants and food are not included. Plan the gather, flue and clearances with an independent installer.
A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING
THE SPIT
The heavy-duty 220 V motor turns the chicken and sheep spits for you. A qualified electrician does the electrical work, and the motor and the light fitting must both be earthed.
THE FIRE
Light the charcoal in the adjustable charcoal starter, then spread the coals on the charcoal tray. When a potjie is on the menu, swing the suspension arm over the fire and hang it from the hook.
THE BUILD
Your installer supports the braai mainly along its bottom side and back edges, and fits fibreglass insulation and an expansion joint around the body and gather.
MEASURE THE WHOLE SETUP
Ask us for the body depth before you build.
The front frame is 1,300 mm wide and the body 935 mm high, without the gather. Ask us for the body width and depth before you build. These are product dimensions, not a building opening: have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.
GOOD TO KNOW
Read your installation manual before you plan, and book a qualified electrician for the spit motor and the light.
The 1200 Super Deluxe, made to order in 304 stainless steel: the heavy-duty firebox and smoke gather, a slide-in-and-under reinforced door with a handle bar, a charcoal tray, an adjustable charcoal starter, a swivel suspension arm with a potjie hook, a light fitting for a conventional bulb, an ash disposal drawer, a warming and utensil drawer, and chicken and sheep spits with a heavy-duty 220 V motor.
No, the flue is separate. Its sections are round, with a nominal diameter of 475 mm and a length of 1,200 mm, and the gather outlet is rectangular, 500 × 350 mm. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the right parts for your setup.
The minimum chimney flue length is 2,000 mm. Your independent installer plans the flue route and the final height for your building.
Yes. A qualified electrician must do the electrical work for the 220 V spit motor and the light fitting, and both must be earthed. Plan it with your installer before the wall goes up.

Without extra insulation, keep combustible materials at least 200 mm from the sides of the braai box and 450 mm above it. Adequate extra insulation can change this, so let your installer decide. The braai can sit at most 150 mm behind the masonry face.
Support the braai mainly along its bottom side and back edges. The body and the gather need fibreglass insulation and an expansion joint. Your independent installer follows the installation manual under Plan your setup.
