The 700 Basic keeps it simple: a full-width electroplated grid for the food, an ash pan below and a potjie hook for something slow-cooked on the side. Top and bottom doors close it up when the fire is out. Build it in indoors or outdoors, on proper masonry support with a correctly designed chimney.

Ash collects in the pan under the fire; empty it once it is cold. Close the top and bottom doors when the braai is done.

Plan the body, frame and hood together.
Body and hood heights add to 1,000 mm before the flue. These are product sizes, not opening sizes, so have your installer check the opening and safe clearances before building.

What is included?
The 2.5 mm mild-steel braai with top and bottom doors, an ash pan, an electroplated cooking grid, a potjie hook and a light fitting. The light globe, flue pipe, joining collar and cowl are not included.
Which fuel can I use?
Wood or charcoal. There is no separate ember maker, so make the fire in the braai and let it burn down to coals before you cook.
How much space do I need?
The body is 730 mm wide, 350 mm deep and 780 mm high, and the hood rises 220 mm above it. The front frame is 785 mm wide and 810 mm high. Allow for the 430 mm open bottom-door projection. The cooking grid is 680 × 310 mm. These are product dimensions. Have your installer confirm the opening and safe clearances.
Is the flue included?
No. The flue pipe, joining collar and cowl are optional extras. The optional flue pipe is 220 × 320 mm. The correct flue length and chimney arrangement depend on your installation.
Can it be installed indoors or outdoors?
The product is listed for indoor or outdoor installation. It needs suitable masonry support and a correctly designed chimney. Ask a qualified installer to confirm the location, clearances and ventilation.
Does this model include an ember maker?
The 700 Basic has a full-width cooking grid and ash pan. A separate ember-maker basket is not included in the listed equipment.
What is shown in the installation image?
The braai is shown within an illustrative outdoor kitchen. The wall, chimney construction, cabinets, counters and styling are not part of the product.
What does the guarantee cover?
Homefires guarantees the EconoMaster firebox for 5 years from the date of purchase against faulty workmanship or materials, when the fire is made in the ash pan. Loose, replaceable parts such as the grid and the ash pan are not covered, and neither is rust for any reason, misuse or water leaks, or damage from incorrect installation. Keep the braai painted and maintained. Ask us for the full terms.
