How delivery works

DeliveryHow it works

Because most of our products are huge, it’s difficult for us to keep stock of all of them. For this reason, we deliver a lot of our products directly from our suppliers and manufacturers, to offer you a great price and a fresh braai and a warm fireplace.

PRIORITY DELIVERYWe will make sure you are kept in the loop at every single step of the way and we will have your order processed as a priority. Tracking number included.

FREE DELIVERYLook, it’s free but we are unable to provide an exact time or take specific delivery requests as we are at the mercy of our suppliers. We still do our best to deliver as quickly as possible and in most cases we are much quicker than the stated turn around time.

MORE ABOUT THE XN036

One wide window on the fire.
Flue on top or behind.

The XN036 is a full cast-iron, closed-combustion stove for dry wood or A-grade anthracite. One wide pane of glass puts the whole fire on show, and the ash falls through the riddling grate into the pan below, ready to empty once it is cold. Your installer can take the flue off the top or the back, on a 150 mm nominal pipe. At 133 kg, plan the move early.

SLOW EVENINGS AT HOME

Stories, knitting and a warm room.

Gran's needles click, her grandson leans in for one more story, and the XN036 glows behind its wide glass door. Wooden beams overhead, a lamp on low and nowhere else to be. This is what winter evenings are for.

The flue pipe, hearth plate, furniture, rug and décor are not included. Have an independent installer confirm the hearth, flue route and clearances.

A LITTLE PRACTICAL THINKING

Plan the heat, the flue and the room.

THE HEAT

10 kW nominal, up to 13 kW.

The XN036 is rated at 10 kW nominal and 13 kW maximum heat output when burning wood: the 10–13 kW in its name. The Output Calculator uses 11.5 kW, the middle of the two, to compare with your room.

THE FLUE

On top or at the back.

Connect a 150 mm nominal flue pipe on top or at the rear, whichever suits the room. Send us a photo and measurements for a flue quote, and we will help you choose the parts.

THE ROOM

Give it space to breathe.

Keep household furnishings 1,000 mm from the stove. We recommend 800 mm from combustible walls. Leave 1,200 mm above it to a combustible ceiling.

GOOD TO KNOW

Plan your setup.

Read your instruction manual before you plan the installation.

Read the instruction manual

What is included?

The WIKING XN036 cast-iron stove, with its riddling grate and ash pan. Flue pipes, accessories and installation are not included: we quote the flue parts for your setup.

Which fuel can I burn?

Dry wood or A-grade anthracite, and nothing else. Keep your firewood dry. The heat output figures are for wood.

How much heat does it give?

10 kW nominal and up to 13 kW maximum heat output, rated on wood. The Output Calculator uses 11.5 kW, the middle of the two. Insulation, ceiling height and climate change how warm a room feels.

Where does the flue connect?

On top or at the rear, for a 150 mm nominal flue pipe. Our drawing shows the top flue socket at Ø152.6 mm. The roof diagram shows the flue ending 1,500 mm above the roof where it passes through, and 600 mm above the ridge. Have an independent installer choose the outlet and plan the flue route, height and support.

Is the flue included?

No. Flue pipes and accessories are sold separately, because they depend on your room and roof. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote, and we will help you choose the right parts.

How much space does it need?

The stove is 590 mm wide at the top casting, its feet span 618.5 mm, and it is 430.5 mm deep. It stands 670 mm to the top casting or 707.6 mm to the top of the flue collar. Keep household furnishings 1,000 mm away, and leave 1,200 mm above it to a combustible ceiling. We recommend 800 mm from combustible walls. Your installer must follow the installation manual that comes with the unit.

What hearth does it need?

Build a solid, non-combustible constructional hearth at least 125 mm thick, finishes included, that reaches 400 mm in front of the stove. Its floor-protector diagram, also on our drawing, shows edge extensions of 400 mm and 200 mm. Your installer confirms the hearth for your floor and room.

Can it stand in a recess?

Yes, with permanent free air around it: 200 mm at the sides, 200 mm above and 150 mm behind. These gaps apply only in a recess. Where a firewall is needed, use one at least 100 mm thick, usually brick, concrete or stone.

What size is the glass?

The glass is one pane of 449 × 322 mm. Give us this size if you ever need a replacement pane.

How heavy is it?

The net weight is 133 kg. Plan how it will be moved into place, and have your installer check that the floor and the hearth can carry it.

What does the guarantee cover?

Ask us for the current guarantee terms for the XN036 before you order. We check them with Home Fires and pass them on to you.

Can you help with my setup?

Yes. Send a photo and your room measurements for a product and flue configuration quote. We do not install, so arrange installation with an independent installer.
