Stack your logs across the long basket grate, with the pan underneath to catch the ash. Light up, set the damper and let the fire settle in. This single-sided, open fireplace warms the room with radiated heat and convection, and its mild-steel body is built into your wall, with a front frame that finishes the opening neatly.

The day is done, the lamps are low and a wide wood fire crackles in the chimney breast. Pull the armchairs a little closer, put your feet up and let the evening slow right down. A fire this wide makes the whole room feel like the best seat in the house.

The plastered chimney breast, stone hearth, furniture, lamp, candle and décor are not included. Plan the flue, chimney and clearances with an independent installer.

THE FIRE

Room for long logs.

The basket grate is 1,485 mm wide and 410 mm deep, with a pan below it for the ash. Burn wood, and let the ash cool fully before you empty the pan.

THE DAMPER

Damper control, built in.

The fireplace comes with damper control, so the fire is yours to manage. Read the installation manual under Plan your setup before the first fire.

THE FLUE

Plan the chimney early.

The rectangular outlet is 500 × 350 mm, and Jetmaster's typical new-home installation needs a chimney of at least 3,600 mm. Plan the flue with your installer before the walls go up.

What is included?

The Jetmaster Universal 1500 in mild steel: a single-sided, built-in open fireplace with a basket grate and pan, damper control and its front frame. The flue adaptor, flue pipes, cowl, building work and installation are not included.

Which fuel does it burn?

Wood. Stack the logs in the basket grate, which is 1,485 mm wide and 410 mm deep, and the pan below catches the ash.

How does it heat the room?

It warms the room with radiated heat and convection. Ask us for the heat output before you plan your room: we confirm the current South African figure with the supplier before we give you a number.

Is the flue included?

No. The gather has a rectangular 500 × 350 mm outlet, and Jetmaster currently lists an adaptor from that outlet to a round flue for the 1500. Send a photo and measurements for a flue and configuration quote, and we will confirm the adaptor, flue pipes and cowl for your setup before you order.

How tall must the chimney be?

In Jetmaster's typical new-home installation, the chimney is at least 3,600 mm high. The flue pipes come in 1,200 mm sections. Your roof and building rules can change this, so your independent installer plans the final height.

Can it go into an existing fireplace opening?

In existing masonry, the front of the frame can sit at most 150 mm behind the face of the wall. Send us a photo and the measurements of your opening, and your installer confirms the fit.

How much space do I need?

The body is 1,549 mm wide and 1,000 mm high, without the gather, and the front frame adds 50 mm at each side. Ask us for the current body depth and gather height before you build. These are product dimensions, not a building opening. Have your installer check the actual unit and safe clearances.
