The R01 puts the fire behind an upright window, 432 mm high, so the flames are the first thing you notice in the room. Inside the 5 mm steel firebox, a vermiculite lining surrounds the fire, and an ash pan takes care of the clean-up. The finish is a black high-heat paint, the flue connects on top, and the listed efficiency is 78%.
SLOW MORNINGS AT HOME
Sun on the oak floor, proteas on the shelf and a fire going before breakfast. The R01 takes the chill off a winter morning without taking over the room. Bring your coffee, pull the blanket a little closer and stay a while.
The flue pipe, hearth plate, furniture, rug, flowers and décor are not included. Have an independent installer confirm the hearth, flue route and clearances.
BEFORE THE FIRST FIRE
THE HEAT
The R01 gives 9 kW nominal and up to 11 kW maximum heat output, with a listed efficiency of 78%. The Output Calculator uses 10 kW, the middle of the two, to compare with your room.
THE FIRE
The glass is 432 mm high and 276 mm wide, so the fire stays in view from across the room. A vermiculite lining surrounds the fire inside the 5 mm steel firebox.
THE FLUE
The flue connects on top. The collar rises 26 mm, with a 155 mm socket for a 150 mm nominal flue pipe. Send us a photo and measurements for a flue quote.
MEASURE THE WHOLE SETUP
Confirm the width and depth before a tight fit.
The R01 stands 1,228 mm tall to the top of its flue collar. Ask us to confirm its width, depth and weight before you plan a tight fit, and have an independent installer check the clearances on site.
GOOD TO KNOW
Read your instruction manual before you plan the installation.
The FLAMM R01 closed combustion fireplace in a black high-heat finish, with its vermiculite lining and the ash pan. Flue pipes, accessories and installation are not included: we quote the flue parts for your setup.
Wood. It is a closed combustion fireplace, with the fire behind the glass.
9 kW nominal and up to 11 kW maximum heat output, with a listed efficiency of 78%. The Output Calculator uses 10 kW, the middle of the two. Insulation, ceiling height and climate change how warm a room feels.
At the top. The flue collar rises 26 mm, with a socket 155 mm across inside, and takes a 150 mm nominal flue pipe. Have an independent installer plan the flue route, height and support for your building.
No. Chimney flue pipes and accessories are sold separately, because they depend on your room and roof. Send a photo and measurements for a product and flue configuration quote, and we will help you choose the right parts.
The R01 stands 1,228 mm tall to the top of its flue collar. Ask us to confirm its width, depth and weight before you plan a tight fit. Leave at least 1,200 mm to a combustible ceiling. We recommend 1,000 mm to household furnishings and at least 800 mm from combustible materials. Your installer applies the full manual and local requirements.
Use a floor protector that reaches 400 mm in front of the fireplace and 200 mm beyond the sides and the rear. Depending on your floor, the hearth can be a 125 mm constructional hearth or, in some cases, a 12 mm non-combustible board. Have your installer check the floor.
In a recess, leave a free air gap of 200 mm at the sides and the top and 50 mm at the rear. These gaps are for airflow and do not define a cut-out. Where a firewall is needed, use 100 mm of brick, concrete or stone.
A flue of about 4,500 mm could be satisfactory. Where an offset is allowed, a horizontal run is limited to 300 mm, followed by 2,500 mm of vertical flue, and in the manual's roof diagram the flue rises 600 mm. Your installer decides the route for your building and wind.
A vermiculite lining. The baffle brick is 323 × 175 mm and 25 mm thick, the side bricks are 229 × 475 mm and the rear brick is 332 × 475 mm, both 20 mm thick. Bricks and baffles are not covered by the guarantee, so keep these sizes handy when you ask us for a replacement.
The main body has a five-year limited Home Fires warranty against manufacturing defects. Register it within 30 days, or the term drops to 12 months. It covers the first owner at the first installed location, for a unit bought from Home Fires or an authorised retailer and installed correctly; keep your purchase and installation records. Glass, bricks, baffles, handles, paint and seals are excluded. Ask us for the full terms.
