The 700 Deep keeps the front of your built-in braai compact and gives you more depth on the full-length grid. The ash pan below holds the fire, and the potjie arm is there when there's time for a slow pot. Top and bottom doors close it up neatly, and a light fitting helps when the braai runs into the evening.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME OUTSIDE

Make a little room for the coals.

Chops on a Wednesday. A potjie on Saturday. Built into your braai area, the compact front leaves room for a prep counter beside it, while the deeper grid gives you space to spread out.

Surround, counter, furniture and food are not included. Once built in, the gather is hidden in the masonry. Confirm the support, insulation and flue route with an independent installer.

THE GRID

A deeper grid.

The full-length grid is 680 mm wide and 450 mm deep. That depth is what sets this Deep model apart, with room for the wors, the chops and the mielies.

THE FIRE

Coals on the ash pan.

There is no separate ember maker on this model. Build the fire in the middle of the ash pan, let it burn down to good coals and braai above it.

THE FRONT

Doors and a light.

Top and bottom doors close up the front between braais. The light fitting helps when the cooking runs past sunset.

What is included?

The 700 Deep Economaster braai with its full-length 680 × 450 mm grid, ash pan, potjie arm, top and bottom doors and light fitting. Flue pipes, cowl, insulation and building materials are not included.

Does it have an ember maker?

No. This 700 Deep model has no separate ember maker. Build the fire in the middle of the ash pan and let it burn down to coals before you braai.

Which fuel can I use?

Wood or charcoal. Use dry, seasoned wood or good-quality charcoal. Never burn treated timber or household waste.

How much cooking space is there?

The full-length grid is 680 mm wide and 450 mm deep. That extra depth is what makes this the Deep model.

How much space do I need?

The body is 730 mm wide, 780 mm high and 510 mm deep overall, with a 320 mm gather above it. The front frame is 785 × 810 mm. Allow 430 mm in front for the open lower door. These are product dimensions, not a finished masonry opening.

Where does the flue connect?

The flue outlet is 430 × 230 mm. Flue pipes and a cowl are not included. Have an independent installer plan the route, chimney height and roof exit, and send your measurements for a flue and configuration quote.

Can it go indoors?

Yes. Homefires built-in braais may be installed indoors or outdoors. Have an independent installer plan the chimney, insulation and safe clearances for your space.

What does the guarantee cover?

Homefires guarantees the EconoMaster firebox for 5 years from the date of purchase against faulty workmanship or materials, when the fire is made in the ash pan. Loose, replaceable parts such as the grid and the ash pan are not covered, and neither is rust for any reason, misuse or water leaks, or damage from incorrect installation. Keep the braai painted and maintained. Ask us for the full terms.
