Give the fire a place. Make the room your own.
A freestanding fireplace has its own presence. Here’s how to choose the fuel, shape and setup that suit your home.
Compare freestanding wood stoves, gas fireplaces and bio-fuel models from Jetmaster, FLAMM, Wiking, HomeFires and Chad-O-Chef. Explore legs, log bases and pedestal designs, then narrow the range by fuel, view, brand and budget. Plan the position, clearances and connection for the exact model you choose.

Good questions
Before the first fire.
Does freestanding mean I can move the fireplace around?
No. Freestanding describes the appliance format. Its support, clearances and connection must follow the manufacturer’s instructions. A fitted wood or gas fireplace is not a portable heater.
Can I choose a freestanding gas fireplace?
Yes. Use the gas filter to see the standalone gas models in this range. Check the specified gas configuration, room suitability and installation requirements with a suitable registered gas installer.
Are all freestanding fireplaces wood-burning?
No. This range includes wood, gas and bio-fuel models. Use the fuel filter to compare the type you want, and follow the instructions for the exact appliance.
How far from the wall should my stove stand?
Use the clearances stated in the exact model’s installation instructions. Requirements depend on the appliance, surrounding materials and installation. Have a suitable installer assess the position.
Do I need a hearth or floor protection?
Check the manufacturer’s requirements for your selected appliance and floor. Your installer should confirm the support and any hearth or protective construction needed before fitting.
Is side glass the same as a double-sided fireplace?
No. Side glass or a panoramic front gives another view into the firebox. Double-sided models provide a view from two sides of the appliance. Check the layout and access of the exact version.
Are the flue and installation included?
Included items vary by product and selected options. Flue components, gas fitting, floor protection and installation may be separate costs. We sell and deliver fireplaces; we do not install them.
Do you deliver freestanding stoves across South Africa?
Yes. Confirm the delivery cost, timing, availability and receiving arrangements for your chosen model and address before scheduling the fitting work. Most freestanding fireplaces are made or ordered for you, so delivery usually takes 10–12 working days.
Can I return a fireplace?
Yes. If a fireplace does not suit you, you can return it within 14 days. The Terms give the conditions.
