A little know-how

Choose the fire. Plan the warmth.

From matching the stove to the room to planning the flue, a little thought now makes the first fire that much better.

Good questions

Before the first fire.

Is closed combustion the same as slow combustion?

The terms commonly describe overlapping enclosed wood-heating ranges. Compare the exact model’s firebox, air controls, permitted fuels and instructions rather than relying only on the name.

Are wood-burning stoves included in this range?

Yes. This range brings together closed-combustion wood fireplaces, freestanding stoves and fitted inserts. Open wood fireboxes, gas fireplaces and bio-fuel models have separate shopping routes.

What size stove do I need for my room?

Have your installer assess the room, including dimensions, ceiling height, insulation, glazing and connected spaces. Compare the manufacturer’s output information for the exact model; kW alone does not guarantee coverage.

Can I fit a stove into an existing fireplace opening?

It depends on the opening, appliance and flue. Ask a suitable installer to assess the site and use the exact model’s installation drawing, clearances and ventilation requirements before ordering.

Can I burn coal as well as wood?

Only if the manufacturer permits it for your exact appliance. A wood-burning model is not automatically multifuel. Check the fuel instructions before choosing or operating the fireplace.

Does a double-sided fireplace use the same fitting dimensions?

Check the drawing for the exact double-sided model. Body depth, access and installation requirements can differ from a single-sided version, even within the same range.

Are the flue and installation included?

Check the included items and options on the product page. Flue components, hearth or surround work and installation may be separate costs. We sell and deliver fireplaces; we do not install them.

Do you deliver wood-burning stoves across South Africa?

Yes. Confirm the delivery cost, timing and access arrangements for your product and address before booking the installation work.

Can I return a fireplace?

Yes. If a fireplace does not suit you, you can return it within 14 days. The Terms give the conditions.
